Privacy Policy
Construction Cam by FastEdge Hosting · Last updated November 2, 2026
This policy explains what personal information FastEdge Hosting (“we”, “us”) collects through Construction Cam (the “Service”), why, where it is stored, and the choices you have. We follow Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA).
1. Our role
Companies (“Customers”) use the Service to store job-site photos and videos and to share them with their team and clients. For the content a Customer uploads, we act as a service provider processing it on the Customer's behalf; the Customer decides what is uploaded and who can see it. If you are an employee or client of a Customer, please also contact that company with questions about its content.
2. What we collect
Account information
- Your name, email address and password (stored only as a one-way hash — we can't see your password).
- Your company's name, your role (admin, team member or client), and which projects you can access.
Content
- Photos and videos you upload, their file names, sizes and dimensions.
- Information recorded by the camera, where present: the date and time a photo was taken and its GPS location. Location is shown to the Customer's team only, never to clients.
- Project details (name, code, site address, client name) and notes written by the team.
Technical and security information
- Sign-in sessions, including the IP address and browser/device type used to sign in, so we can keep accounts secure.
- Short-lived counters keyed by IP address and email to limit repeated sign-in and password-reset attempts, kept only briefly and deleted periodically.
- An activity log of important actions in a company (for example, a project created or a person invited), visible to that company's admins.
- Server logs kept by our hosting providers for operations and security.
3. How we use it
- To provide the Service: store and display your content, create web-sized copies and video previews, and control who can see what.
- To send service emails: invitations, password resets and important notices. We do not send marketing email without your consent.
- To keep the Service secure, prevent abuse, and fix problems.
- To meet legal obligations.
We do not sell personal information, show ads, or use your content to train AI models. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.
4. Cookies
We use only cookies needed for the Service to work:
- a sign-in session cookie (keeps you signed in, up to 30 days);
- a cookie remembering which company you are working in, if you belong to more than one;
- a cookie with your device's time zone, so dates show in your local time.
5. Where your information is stored
We use these providers to run the Service:
- Amazon Web Services — photo and video storage and processing, in the Canada (Central) region; delivery of images to your browser through a content delivery network that may serve cached copies from locations near you; and sending service emails.
- Neon — our database (account details, project information, notes, activity log), hosted in the United States.
- Vercel — hosting of the web application, which processes requests in the United States and other locations.
- Stripe — payment processing for paid plans. Stripe collects card details directly on its own pages; we never see or store your card number. We keep only the plan, billing status and renewal date.
Because some of these providers are outside Canada, your information may be processed in other countries and may be accessible to their courts and authorities under their laws. Our providers are bound by contracts to protect it and to use it only to provide services to us.
6. How we protect it
- All connections are encrypted (HTTPS), and stored files are encrypted at rest.
- The storage holding photos and videos is private. Viewing uses signed links that expire after a short time, and each request is checked against the person's access to that project.
- Passwords are hashed, sign-in attempts are rate-limited, and access is limited by role.
No system is perfectly secure. If a breach creates a real risk of significant harm, we will notify affected people and regulators as the law requires.
7. How long we keep it
- Content stays until a Customer admin deletes it. Deleting a photo, video or project removes the files from our storage straight away; copies in database backups expire within 30 days.
- Account information is kept while the account is active. When a company account is closed, we delete its data within 30 days, except where we must keep something by law.
- Sign-in sessions expire after 30 days of inactivity; rate-limit counters are short-lived and deleted periodically.
8. Your rights
You can ask to access the personal information we hold about you, correct it, or withdraw consent (which may mean you can no longer use the Service). For content uploaded by a company, we may refer your request to that company. Email support@construction.fastedgehosting.com; we will respond within 30 days.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia or the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
9. Children
The Service is a business tool and is not intended for anyone under 18.
10. Changes
We will post any changes here and update the date above. For material changes we will notify Customer admins by email or in the Service before they take effect.
